When Moving
a Two Story House...
When moving
a 2 story building there are
several ways
for the move to be handled
1.
Moved in one piece
2.
Moved cut vertically,
because of the
width
(However each piece is still 2 story)
3.
Moved by being "quartered"
(moved in
four sections)
This would be required because of
width and height of structure,
or moving over
long distances where utility repair
costs are too Great.
McMillan Building Movers
have done
all 3 types of 2 story moves!
1.
If the House is moved in "one" piece, most
likely power lines and utility lines,
street lights, tree
limbs, will have to be moved and the cost of those
repairs would have to be assessed
to the homeowner.
2.
If the house is being cut "vertically", it could
be due to narrow roads
and
power lines, are not then an issue.
3.
We have lots of experience in "quartering" 2 story
homes! It takes
lots of planning and expertise in
this area. We can
provide experience in
this technique,
unsurpassed in Texas.

We have successfully dismantled these Historic Home
and restored
them back with the least amount of damage
to architecture
and integrity to the structure.

Here are
some pictures of a Historic
Home Move...
(Maybe you want to go away
on a trip during
the move...We can handle it, but you might get
pretty nervous
if you watched the entire process.)

This proud Historic Home
needed a new location...
